Valve manufacturer Vogt Valves has announced that it will present its new liquid hydrogen product lines at international gas technology event Gastech 2022.

Ideally suited for the aerospace industry, Vogt’s new C-330 series of Bellows Sealed Globe valves are assembled and tested in clean room facilities built to aerospace grade specification.

Commenting on the product line, Simone Brevi, Group Managing Director, said, “We started developing these products in 2018 when we formed our Research and Development company BUTI srl and we obtained the first orders in the aerospace sectors.”

“Now we are seeing a strong interest in the fast-growing sector of the hydrogen economy. Vogt already achieved significant orders in Asia and North America, and we are now investing more resources in this area,” she added.

The new product line comes soon after the launch of the company’s new plant dedicated entirely to the production of deep cryogenic service valves.

Located in Cenate, Bergmano, Italy, the facility features a Cryocooler built for Vogt with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics which enables testing temperatures as low as -254C.

The plant produces a range of valves including manual, actuated and control bellows sealed globe valves, special check valves, segmented ball valves, and triple offset butterfly valves for liquid hydrogen, oxygen and helium.

The company intends to advance the company’s carbon reduction goals by installing a 1 GW (gigawatt) solar energy plant scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

Vogt’s hydrogen division will present the new C-330 series at Gastech, Milan, 5th-8th September.

First Hydrogen is looking to spearhead the North American market, having unveiled green hydrogen production plans in Canada and the US.

Hydrogen could well be the buzz word of the industrial gas market right now. Arguably one of the fastest-growing segments, the hydrogen business is seeing both new and existing players make solo and collaborative moves to meet the ever-increasing demands being witnessed in the global market.

Air Liquide has today (24th May) opened its largest liquid hydrogen production and logistics infrastructure facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, to serve the growing hydrogen mobility market.
